 Tony & Jennie Kipling
Old English Cars, LLC  was owned and run by Tony & Jennie Kipling.

They started Old English Cars in July 2006, a small specialist repair shop working soley on classic British vehicles.

The business grew beyond their expectations thanks to good old fashioned values and many word of mouth referals from loyal and happy customers who bring their cars from Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina as well as the local Western North Carolina area.

They were featured in a 2-page color article in the November 2007 issue of the international LAND ROVER MONTHLY magazine, and have been featured as Small Business of the Week in the Asheville Citizen Times.  In early 2011 the business premises were expanded to double the workshop and car storage space,  and 2012 was another very busy and sucessful year.

In December 2012 we announced to our customers that we are moving back home to England in 2013 and would not be accepting any new work in the New Year.   We closed the workshop once all restoration work was finished at the end of March 2013, and after selling off our vehicles and equipment and a huge yard sale we left the Mills River premises at the end of April.

As a customer of Old English Cars you were part of our success.  Thank you!

For more specific information about the work we do, see our FAQ page.

Tony is also a certified Instructor at the Land Rover Experience Driving School located at The Biltmore Estate in Asheville.

He grew up surrounded by vintage and classic vehicles, going to car shows all across Britain, and showing a natural skill and interest in cars and engines from a very young age.

After moving from England to North Carolina Tony worked for the Asheville Land Rover Dealership for six years where he was well respected for his extensive knowledge, especially of the older Land Rovers, gearbox and engine repairs, but owing his own business and working on the vintage and classic cars he loves was always something he would do.

Tony has been involved in off road  driving and motor sport both in England and the USA and has owned and restored several series Land Rovers, classic Range Rovers, Austin Healey, Mini and MG vehicles.  Tony's current daily driver is his 1983 right hand drive Land Rover Defender, he also owns a  rare 1931 American Austin.
